RESPONSE TO EMAIL: The article Jonathon Garcia sent out for everyone to read was very interesting to me because it discusses how to save money on gas and driving a truck I am always concerned with saving gas because I have to spend so much money on gas. Many of the tips that the article mentioned are things that I never thought of that I could do help my MPG, such as driving slower not using the air conditioner and always having the oil and the gas cap in good condition at all times. It also said to not warm up the car which I thought was interesting because I have always been told to warm up my car but this article says that I should not because it only burns fuel that is not necessary to burn. I learned a lot from this article and hopefully I can apply it to my car and save some money!!!

hey everyone
so i found this article from time magazine and its about how there is thing called earth hour and everyone from differnt countries at 8pm (their time) will turn all their lights off for an hour to help the environment and to see how much just one hour does its starting from New Zealand, the event will move westward with the sun to Australia, Manila, Dubai, Dublin, New York, Chicago and finally end in San Francisco, where both the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge will go dark for an hour. I think its awesome that the whole world is actually participating in something like this so hopefully more stuff like this can happen anyways here is the article enjoy and have a good weekend!

WIKI BLOG: In response to Brittany Couture's email about which is better paper or plastic bags I have always wondered about this so I found her article to be really interesting and I usually always pick paper because I know I can recycle it so I usually try to do that but I couldn't believe how much damage these bags do to the environment and how they are just thrown into a landfill but after reading this article I really want to try and buy some reusable bags from Trader Joe's or something and use them as much as possible because I know how much it would decrease my impact on the environment.

BLOG RESPONSE:
Emma and Caitlin’s email about Planet Green TV Network seemed really interesting to me because I just can’t believe that environmentalism has become so popular recently. I feel like it has become this sort of trend but regardless of people’s intentions I am glad that it is spreading awareness of this problem. I would love to watch and see what this channel has to offer and I think it’s a great idea to get people more motivated on trying to help the environment and trying to consume less. I also feel since it will be on TV and not just in print or online it will get spread much more quickly and people will actually start to change their ways. I never thought that it would be come a TV channel but it made me really happy to hear that environmentalism has gotten so much attention.

BLOG RESPONSE:
i was really disturbed by the email that Kristin Palmer sent out because it talked about how animals and fish eat cigarette buds for food because they cannot tell the difference. I personally do not smoke but I never really thought about that and now every time I see someone smoke I want to make sure that they dispose of it correctly because then I know that it won't float away into the ocean thats the only thing that really bothers me, more than the smoking alone because if people want to harm themselves thats fine but they should not let their habit affect our environment.
